Perennial flower. Plant prefer partial shade. Can be direct seeded in either Spring or Fall. Early spring planting is best as it gives the plant the entire growing season to develop a strong root system. Fall planting is also possible as long as it is six weeks before the first fall frost. Loosely cover the seed with soil and keep evenly moist until the plant is established. Grow in loose, rich, well-draining soil that will remain moist but not wet. Grows to be about 12 inches tall at maturity extending to 18 inches tall with the flowers, with a spread of 12 inches. Spring bloom, light purple color. Plants that receive regular watering will bloom longer and remain attractive into summer. During dry periods, you may need to water more frequently to keep the plants lush. Give the plants a boost in early spring with a dose of balanced fertilizer as the new growth is emerging. Feed them again once the faded flowers have been cut back. North pick up
