Our 6.6-foot wide x 8.5-foot long flat deck truck box with fold-down sides and a cargo net is wider than most truck boxes are long—it was built to work. Most new truck boxes have 4 feet between the wheel wells and are only 5.5 feet or 6.5 feet long, they're built for trips to Costco, maybe a quick stop by the Home Depot. When you're comparing prices, don't forget to compare sizes! Most garbage trailers in town are around 6 feet wide x 10 feet long with 3-foot walls. Our garbage trailer is 7 feet wide x 16 feet long with 4-foot walls. Between our truck and trailer, we can do in one trip what would take most at least two.
